Weird guide... yes, 1 TB is fine. I also used a 16 GB USB stick successfully.
Can you please also tell me if on this tv i can watch ripped blue-rays, iso files etc. and if there is any trick to play the unsupported ones?
If the codec is supported, but the file types (.iso etc.) are not, you must pack it into a supported container. For example .iso DVD movies, you can extract it, then pack it into an MKV container with MakeMKV.
Thanks a lot for all this info too.

So I have created 2 partitions on the drive:

-A small one of 400 mb, which I than formatted in fat32 and copied all the data that was on the drive before partitioning it and was the result of the root access hack.
-A big one which i left in ntfs

Connected usb to TV and formatted the big partition with the TV on which I did a small recording.
I cannot see the small partition in the TV drives anymore though but it is present when I plug the usb drive to the PC (http://prntscr.com/2aocxb).

Anyway I started PVR Decoder and connected it to the TV and it found the recording but something must not be working cause even if the file is very small it never completes the operation.
Is it a long process?

This is what I have: http://prntscr.com/2anrm9

I aborted the process after 40 minutes and started again but it still goes after almost 1 hour...

Is there anyway to transfer the files and decrypting them plugging the drive to the PC cause doing it wireless especially on big files seems a very long process considering i record a lot of stuff.

Any advice appreciated :)

The step shown in your log about uploading / executing keydropper should never take more than 2-3 seconds ..
The process that is supposed to follow takes a bit longer, but should be reflected in log live ..

The PVRDecoder process has absolutely stalled ..

I have had a few reports of malfunctions of the netcat-module, responsible of launching the keydumper process on TV.
I suggest you try any other "telnet-port" in Settings ... Try all these 3 : 1023, 2023 and 23 .. Obviously not the one you are using now.

If your problem persists, I urge you to download and try the new version that will be released to this forum in a matter of a few days .. A christmas service update :-)
This new version will, among other things, feature a brand new method for exchanging telnet-commands with TV .. This may very well resolve your issue.

Thank you very much Lordbyte I tried 1023 and it did work.

Anyway, considering the amount of stuff i record and my crappy slow wireless, is there or might there be in the future, a way to just hook the usb drive to my pc, transfer the files there and than "decrypt" them there?
Or a way to do this hooking somehow the TV to the PC cause just to transfer\decrypt 100 mb it took 15 minutes.

Thanks for the help and your work (just realized you wrote this haha).

Thank you

Sorry man, forgot to comment on that ....

While your device is connected to TV, please click the "Tools"-button in the PVRDecoder and select to either extract keys to the CONTENT-folder of the device,
or to a networkfolder (like your own PC) ..

Then move the device to the PC, and you will have the keys ready on the device in the content-folder, or .. on your PC anywhere you selected to store them.

You can then use DRMDecrypt.exe directly ..(many alternative versions out .. search forum .. I recomend Bugficks edition(s) ) ..

Also, fix your wireless network .. Use decent hardware .. N-class 300 Mbit wireless allows me to transfer a typical 6-8 Gb recording in max. 10 minuts ..
(New version will feature realtime benchmarking in log during transfers)

Ooh thanks a lot so all should be possible :D
I was getting discouraged and about to return the TV.
I really bought this one for the double pvr. :)
Of course they don't write anywhere about the drm recording and i have no clue at why they came up with this crap as this is the first PVR\TV I have had that had this.

As for the wireless there are several reasons why i cannot update it so it's good I have other options.

Anyway I finished the wireless decrypting twice but cannot find the file anywhere...
Shouldn't it be in the "Output Folder for .TS Files"? http://prntscr.com/2aq2mb

Yes, it should ..

I have also had one ot two such reports before .. I also have one (or more) user(s) telling me that filebrowser window only show a "subset" of available folders.
I have no idea why at this point .. I am using standard windows controls (components) to do my browsing ..

Anyway, what I wanted to say ... Try another output-folder just for the test ... try "C:\TEMP", or whatever folder you are
entirely sure you can create and erase files in with your current windows-permissions ..

Also notice that you should allow drmdecrypt.exe firewall-access/AV write-rights in the folder you are using.

And so on .. :-)

It worked on the second try. Not sure what's wrong this time. This is with the new 2.5" HDD which is definitely ok.

Some more suggestions: Perhaps show the progress in the taskbar Win7-style (with the green progress bar). Make the line above "X selected" draggable with the mouse, and when you drag it upwards, the log window should become a bigger height so you can see more at once. Also currently the bottom line of space in the log area is not used. Also: FirmWare -> Firmware, Shutdown TV/PC -> Shut down TV/PC

But thanks again for such a nice program! :P

On Smart tv, is there a way to record from external/aux sources, like from HDMI or at least EXT ?

Thanks!
Merry Christmas !!
