how risky is this process?
is bricking the tv a possibility,I mean are there any reports of this?
I have a friend with a 48H6400 and 2900 fw (probabily T-MST14DEUC) and would like to root it.

If the power goes out while tv is upgrading you can brick it. So buy some UPS or electric generators.

If I read correctly, these downgrade firmware leaked from samsung, right? should be as safe as a normal fw downgrade.

It's safe. But power outage it is still normal thing in 21 century.
