SamyGO

Problem looks similar to stefan81, a few pages above. I have no camera, but pictures would look exactly the same.

Tried a 512MB stick, a 4GB, and two 16 GB. FAT16 and FAT32. TV is connected via LAN (3 meter CAT5+ to FRITZ!Box 7360).
The short time I had root access the stick definetly was not connected to TV. Browser didn't help also.

Biggest problem is that TV freezes while there should be restart! After "Now reboot ..." at the end should it happen automatically or sould I turn off and on by myself?

Procedure for firmware 1116 with skype was lot easier and worked directly with same USB stick. Update to 1120 was an accident due false OTN and automatic update settings. Now that is turned off.

Another question ... is SamyGO always visible in Apps until manual deinstallation? Or will it disapper after successfull root like in old skype method? Now it is visible just until first start to root.

TV will not reboot automatically. That's why it asks you to reboot it You can try changing rcSGO file as stefan81 did but first you need to gain root access "somehow" You can also try changing the file in data.zip and rooting once again

After reboot notification appears TV screen gets a little darker then TV freezes. I have to push Standby Button several times to turn off. Thats every time I try.

Since it once was successful I tried and tried for hours now. No root anymore. Changing in data.zip doesn't work also...

Started SamyGO Widget ... SamyGO2.txt missing rest green [OK], TV freezes, copied SamyGO2.txt manually from computer and tried again: all messages green [OK], TV freezes, startet TV new, waited several minutes, no root

I'll give up! For today and ever... worked nearly 10 hours on it. $10 donation for nothing. Believe it or not, it is a lot of money for me! If I only knew a way to clean the rests of my attempts. Surely there is e.g. /mnt/rcSGO and perhaps other files now staying or not? Perhaps with next firmware update. I know, no more root then but f**k it! Or is there anything else?

You were trying wrong things Copying SamyGO2.txt is pointless You should check telnet on port 23 and 2023 You have some problem with your TV. I would try different USB. Plugging and unplugging the same USB is pointless.

Ahh one more thing once you unplugged USB you probably did break your USB. You should remove SamyGO_data and SamyGO-F You have so much trouble because you are doing stuff (unplugging USB while TV is on) that you shouldn't do:P Format USB and start from the beginning

Also from your nagging I think I was able to figure out one thing - "/mnt/rcSGO" is green? If it is this means that hack worked perfectly Also "hanging" of TV proves that you did break USB by unplugging it

The TV hang also the very first time without removing USB. For restart, after I waited a time, I hat to push Button on RC often.

I tested four different USB sticks with FAT16 and FAT32. And one time, I tested it with exFAT and one time with NTFS. And all 4 tested USB sticks are working fine. No damage. Tested with the Tool H2testw. Maybe luckily no damage, because I disconnected the USB from TV properly via menu (Source -> Options -> disconnect)?

Again doing stuff that I didn't ask you to do. Don't expect to make this working (until you get full root) with exFAT or NTFS!!!.
First of all remove all txt files from USB. Reboot TV and wait 5 minutes. Then turn off TV unplug usb and tell me which files txt files did you find on it I can assure you that hack is working we just need to check what is the problem with your TV Also you are using NON-MST method ?

Okay, removed all txt files, plugged USB, did reboot, waited, turned off TV, unplugged USB and looked at txt files: there is only SamyGO1.txt which contains "OK". No second one.

And is it normal, SamyGO App disappers from Smart Hub started once? Not now, but at first tries i even did a reset of Smart Hub.

I will be "normal" if one SamyGO appears, if two SamyGO apps appear, If ten disappears I don't care about it. You only have to be able to run the rooting method. Okay remove SamyGO_data from the usb and re-download SamyGO_data.zip from the first post

First use the search box in the upper right corner. Hit advanced and search OSCAM in titles only. Then add every link you find to blocked sites After that look for the answer in every thread that is not OSCAM related. That's probably the easiest way
