1. If I got it right, rooting (including Cinavia) e.g. F Bluray is totally riskfree? I.e. when USB is removed device isn't affected?
Yes but ONLY if you remove the usb while device is OFF!!!

2. Also is it normal that rooting must be re-done everyday or something?
Meaning that for most of the time it's not enough to just start webbrowser for me to get FTP access etc, but I must also start the SamyGo widget and reboot. This needs to be done kind of once a day - just as if device does some "reset" once a day. In such case it sounds like rooting affects the device also without the UDB in some way after all?
Did you disable OTN Support ?

With EVERY update root becomes less and less stable and finally stops working

Ok, that I haven't done after I got root working the first time, at least as far as I can remember. I probably removed it sometime during first tries since my device never detected the USB (before I learned how to do it), but that should be safe I guess.

The only thing I disabled are automatic updates in normal setting - there's a new version (1018) available (has been all along since I bought this 2nd hand device) which hasn't been installed. If there's some other setting in some "hidden system menu" I haven't touched it.
Is that important - I thought the most important was to not get the latest firmware?
I kind of want to try 1018 in case my issues remains (mainly that wifi is lost - reuqires reboot to get it up again). So far root works on all known versions or?
The other issue I have is that pictures from Apps using CImageViewer looks weird. It seems CImageViewer isn't really supported by 2013 - so I'll first check if it helps to use recommended APIs for that issue.
EDIT - also with example App from Samsung pictiures gets screwed up - but I'm pretty sure I noticed this before I rooted.

Link in my description

What you changed is setting that is labeled "automatic updates on/off". If you set it to off it means:
"Samsung please don't update my TV while it's ON update it ONLY when it's OFF"

Are you sure this goes for Blurays? I don't think so - in such case my Bluray would have been updated with available firmware long time ago I guess...

Seems not possible to search these "extra threads".
Has anyone rooted an F-series bluray with firmware version 1018 - i.e. is it safe to upgrade to 1018? I have a BD-F7500 with some issues which could have been correct in later firmwares (not if you ask SamyGo admin/developers though...)

Yes it is confirmed you should disable OTN Support ASAP

Ok, strange that my device hasn't updated then.
Do you know anything about version 1018 - if rootable? Somewhere I read some statement about all firmwares so far is rootable for F-series. But perhaps that's an old statement. It seems the exact version would be B-FXBBSPWWC. Or perhaps this name is euqal for all versions for this model.

I don't care about name

I don't own ANY bluray player

You have donors status. Just check

And disable OTN Support ASAP

Just check what? If you mean "check if upgrade to 1018 works with root", then I'm screwed if it doesn't right? Since there are no downgrades on these models right?
EDIT
Seems like this a-hole got it working on 1018:
viewtopic.php?f=70&t=8305
Also perhaps my "root problems" isn't related to OTN but something with this?
viewtopic.php?f=70&t=8073&start=30#p63156
I.e. are there any retries in current Bluray rooting? I guess I can post an image of what samygo says when it doesn't work.
EDIT2
Updated to 1018 - root still working - images still corrupt though - damn...
Service Menu in BD seems tricky, if there even is one. I guess I give it a shot with

Service menu trick didn't work

I have exactly the same problem JeppeTh, on top my HT-F5500 seems to just be restarting every now and then... whenever it feels like it. I'm not sure why it would do that...
