Hi, I am wondering if the bd stuff is turned off right now too, because I have tried and tried and tried, but all I get is the "no software to upgrade currently" message...
Or is simply a case of keep on trying the same thing until it eventually works like many here have done?
Cheers.

Hi, does anyone know if, the downgrades work for Canadian models?
BD-D5700/ZC
I just want to make sure that I can try it again.

Huge problem - My player will not load any more after downgrade. It stays at the welcome screen and the players display shows "LOAD"
I have a BD-D5700/ZC, it had version 1029 before the downgrade today. It detected version 1090, downloaded it and asked if I wanted to install. I hit yes and it asked to restart the player, I hit yes again and it then turned off and then back on. Since then is stays at the welcome screen. BTW, I'm in Canada.
Can anyone help? Can I force the last 1029 firmware through USB or CD on start-up without loading the menu?

It worked!! On a refurbished BD-D5700/ZC I picked up yesterday. When I first connected It had 1025 on it, and I let it upgrade to 1029.
Today, I decided to take a chance again and so I set the DNS to 46.4.199.222 and left the IP to auto. No changes on my Belkin Router or my Cable modem. It picked up the 1090 upgrade, so I went ahead. It updated and restarted and this time it loaded successfully. It's now currently running v1015
BTW, I had been trying to downgrade for 3 weeks with no success, but this week I had no problems connecting at all, with 2 seperate units. Although one unit got bricked.
Like many have said here, just keep on trying!!

@cechsam: have the problem with my bd-d5300. downloading worked but it stopped after the restart and the showing of the samsung smart blu-ray player logo. now my display only shows load and i can't get any further. i guess you were successful with your non bricked version or were you able to "unbrick" your failed downgraded player? what were the differences between your two players? why did it work on one and not the other?

The bricked one is still "bricked".

I have no idea why it worked on one and not the other, they are identical. I havn't got much help from anyone on this forum as no one replied to any of my questions, so I just took a chance.
On the first one, I was so excited to finally have it download that I wasn't really paying attention to what was going on. I noticed that on the bricked one, it was stuck on "Update" after the restart with the logo on the screen. I then shut it off, and then it came on with the logo and "Load" on the display and that was it. Maybe I wasn't patient enough. Also I think I clicked on the OK when it prompted for the restart. On the second attempt I let it restart on its own and it worked. Alleluia!!

Finally found a 1022 firmware image for my BD-D5500 so I put this one on my player, but still a message that there are no updates found. Al least I now know which firmware EXACTLY I now have:
SWU_B-BRCMBSP_001022_I05_ES000KS000RS000DS000BS000_120117
Any help would be very much appreciated.
