No, you mean wrong, method over hotel mode isn`t risky. Do not create start.sh on /mtd_rwarea/ and everything is god then. I worst case you get unresponsible USB slots, but you get it working over exlink. If you use second hack version, you do not need to play with linux at all, changes you need you can do on windows mashine.
Use files and instruction from this message.

It was already said here but i wanted to ask to bring more clearance here.
if i had my TV hacked and then updated to the newer or later firmware then the Telnet will not work.
But doest it also mean that all the settings became as they were from the factory and i can do the hotel hack again?

No, your settings are not back with Factory Reset.

You need format your /mtd_rwarea/ over exlink to have settings back.

I was just digging forum for this info and found your post.

2. If you do not have ExLink:
You can execute FactoryReset from ServiceMenu, /mtd_rwarea/network_opt will be deleted

So i can just go to service menu and click the reset menu?
Because if not then things are like that: if we don't have ExLink we cannot roll back things easy.

Anyone close to being able to enable the widget hack internet@tv?..
Only want to hack so can downgrade from the latest 3007.1/3006.2 firmware back to 2004
then no longer need for hack for me
And I think there is alot of other people like me who just need the widget hack simply to downgrade
and that's it. These latest firmwares are awful and I just don't feel confident using the hotel mode hack..

I downgraded Firmware to 2004. I did hack over hotel mode. But now i am back to 3006
Somehow 3006 looks better. The picture quality even looks better. This firmware performs faster.
I really do not recommend you downgrading.
I tried to compare 2004 vs 3006 and there were the same problems like some MKVs were not playing or stop playing on the same place.
3D looked the same, cross talk on side by side MKVs and so on. So don't waste time. stay with the latest firmware.
plus people who has 3D TVs should try their old 3D glasses as it seems that sync problem is no longer a problem if you have 3006.2 firmware. At least it is no longer a problem for me.

Well 3006.2 or 3007.1 that is a dilemma and personal choice as for today they seem to perform the same.
3006.2 is still the only option for some countries in online TV update.
But I have to agree with you. There were some bugs with 3006.2 after that Samsung seems to re-release this version as the release date got changed.
But who knows for sure.
