Re: BD-D Setup Menu
Probablly i'll quit.
Thanks anyway.
I am working in database programming and hardware electronics, and I am moderator on programming forum, but when I make a tutorial for something, I do it deeply and very explicit and I don't have any nervous reaction.

Really apologies we haven`t understood each other. If you find some important info is missing here, articles can be always updated. Users make articles according their experience and understanding how it should look like. it is never late to improve. Conversation gona to be off topic. Peace

No offence taken. Peace to you, too. But, unfortunatelly, i can't find an answer for my problem.
Re: BD-D Setup Menu
I personaly don`t have BD player and can`t check procedure sequence, i just imagine your steps should be:mesersmith wrote:This is what i asked. After I make that connection in the pcb, rx, tx and gnd, where i find that TDM software?
- Make cable
- Find required soldering pads on mainboard (excuse, no external connectors found) and solder rx, tx and gnd.
- Connect from PC console trough putty and enter TDM
- Enter Factory menu

Re: BD-D Setup Menu
@mesersmith, perhaps I can help in clarifying your problem:
TDM (Top Debug Menu) is no external peace of software, the "software" is part of the devices firmware and can be used by service technicians, SamyGO experts or experienced users for debuggig purposes or changeging some device settings. It's wikified how to get acces to the TDM, but the use and possibilities could be documented in more detail. Some issues a well explained (bad hardly to find) in the different threads.
@all developers:
that's no ill-intenioned critic, you are all doing a very good and time consuming job, thank you and keep on re-engeniering!
(for my person: unfortunately don't have enough skills and time to help in improving the wikis, sorry)

Re: BD-D Setup Menu
Ok, i'll try to do something, but after I'll get this information, if anybody know it: from service mode or factory menu, I'll could change the geographic zone for DVB-C?
I mean, if I get into the service mode, I'll find there this option, to change the group of country that will be available in menu?
Now, I have only four countries and if I get into service menu, I'll be able to access many contries?
Thanks for your answer, eventually.

Here it is :jippo wrote: i was looking at the software you made to connect to the factory setup menu of the bd players viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3780. I tried the first release on my bd-d5100 however it says connection refused. I see on the second page you have updated version of the software, however the link is no longer available: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3780&start=10#p32463 Do you still have this software on your computer?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: BD-D Setup Menu
It should work, at least to send standard keys (KEY_1, ...)jippo wrote:I am still getting connection refused so perhaps I may need to build a Fanet adapter.
Is there anything else I can do, maybe enable logging somehow to see where the problem lies?
Are you using the ip that is shown in your config menu ?
To check that your network connection is ok, can you ping your device ?
Have you tried the genuine Samsung remote app ?
Re: BD-D Setup Menu
I can ping the device so the ip is correct, but when i try to connect or send any keys I get "socket connexion failed. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."oga83 wrote: It should work, at least to send standard keys (KEY_1, ...)

I can't test the Samsung remote app as it is only available for Android and IOS I think? I have a Nokia N8 unfortunately.
I am using a wired connection, but the firmware is v1004 which is over a year and a half old. Surely I should still be able to connect via wired lan with this old firmware?
Re: BD-D Setup Menu
As far as I remember, it should work with v1004jippo wrote:I am using a wired connection, but the firmware is v1004 which is over a year and a half old. Surely I should still be able to connect via wired lan with this old firmware?
Maybe a problem with your firewall ?
Is the following URL working ?
