Just a status update.
I did recheck everything once more, and it turned out that my problem was that I did misread the wiki.
I did try to create an account and was writing 'developer', instead of 'develop' as a user name.
Writing it exactly as in the wiki worked, and then I was able to enter the IP adress and download the SamyGo extension.
Now after a hard reboot (pulling the power plug for a minute or two) my HT-D6750W finally have a running FTP server, as well as some other services are enabled as well.
Now my next step is to figure out the cinavia thing:)
edit: status update 2, I used the freepatcher posted by juuso (thank you juuso) and followed the wiki to edit that user.sh file. I tested yesterday and now it seems that cinavia is fixed
