I doubt there is any hardware problem with my USB stick. I bought it last week and it supports USB 3.0. However, it is possible that the data has become corrupt due to uncontrolled crashes and reboots. The USB disk that I use for recordings became corrupt, thanks to SamyGO. I hope it is repaired now. I connected it to a Linux computer yesterday and did a backup of the data. I didn't reformat it, but I ran fsck.ext4 to fix the errors.

I hope there is no bug in the rooting process that can corrupt data on USB devices. It is understandable if uncontrolled crashes can corrupt data, but all reboots must be controlled.

Menu/System/General/Quickly Power OFF Samsung - this option must be OFF.
Thanks, I will check that.

When I have a new clean USB stick, where exactly should I put the newmount.ko file?

just run the original root and then use ftp to upload newmount.ko exactly where you did put it previously :)

@sectroyer
Keep in mind vusb modules are not insmoded. Maibe this fact have sense.

@leikli, I also suggest to disable all patches, to be sure here is no troubles because of them (all scrips, starting number 90_ and up)

yeah right :) That's also good suggestion. Anyway he was saying he had a bug when he tried to connect with telnet on port 23... That was very strange... I checked log and all addresses... Everything looks okay, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work... :)

I have now tried with a brand new USB stick. The TV went through a number of reboots before it stabilized. In the end, the results are pretty much the same. I have attached the samygo.log file.

I could not find a "Quickly Power OFF Samsung" option, but there is a "Quickly Power ON Samsung" option. I have disabled it in anyway.

Okay let's summarize. mount -o bind works for you correctly, right? The problem is ONLY with telnet? Please post the result of this command:

Code: Select all

mount | grep pts
and then test this:

Code: Select all

cat /dev/ptmx &
and quickly:

Code: Select all

ls /dtv/pts/

Connection closed by foreign host.
The TV crashes and reboots.

I am also a bit worried about the following lines in samygo.log:

Code: Select all

EXT4-fs (loop3): warning: mounting fs with errors, running e2fsck is recommended
EXT4-fs (loop3): recovery complete
EXT4-fs (loop3): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. Opts: (null)
EXT4-fs error (device loop3): ext4_mb_generate_buddy:744: group 3, 3272 clusters in bitmap, 3273 in gd; block bitmap corrupt.
JBD2: Spotted dirty metadata buffer (dev = loop3, blocknr = 1). There's a risk of filesystem corruption in case of system crash.

###### bypass = 0 dcache = 1
EXT4-fs error (device loop3): ext4_mb_generate_buddy:744: group 1, 3445 clusters in bitmap, 3444 in gd; block bitmap corrupt.
I assume that this concerns samyext4.img. Is samyext4.img really corrupt, or is it mounted incorrectly?

The problems with ssh, sleep timer, auto-off timer, auto-on timer and the fact that the TV wakes up after a while when it is in off mode still persist. There are probably other issues too that I have not yet discovered.

Okay one thing you have to be aware of there is absolutely NO POINT in figuring anything else out till we find out why telnet crashes your TV... There is one thing that came to my mind. Please upload your kernel sources somewhere... I might have an idea ;)
