I would like to downgrade my Samsung BD-D5200.
It provides the following data:

Version: 2012/02/28_001014
Model: HT-D5200Series_ZF
Software Version: HTB-D6500EUB-1014.0

When I try to downgrade the firmware by setting your DNS server and starting the firmware upgrade it downloads about 80-90% and dies with "Error 800 (resources error)". Is there anything I can do or is there no downgrade available for this model?

Thanks to arris69 and juuso for their help. I successfully downgraded my D5200 .

Success! I was able to downgrade my BD-D5300 player this evening. I'd trying to get this done for weeks, but the player never found the "upgrade" before, only now.

I'll explain the whole thing. I bought this player because it can be made region free for DVD playback. I did it successfully, updated to the latest firmware and it remained region free. After a couple of weeks, it started spitting out region 1 DVD's with the region error message. It happened after I got a Samsung "smart" TV, which is connected to the web via Wifi. I'm not sure this was the reason or it has a counter for the region unlock. The player was not connected to the Web via a LAN cable. Anyway, after downgrading the firmware, the region unlock code again worked. After the unlock, I once again upgraded to the latest firmware. It now plays region 1 DVD's. I don't know much about Cinavia. I have to update the firmware regularly, because it's important for me to be able to play the latest BD discs.

HT-D7100/EN, successfully "downgraded" with B-FIRHTBEUC_001112 (original firmware version was the same, i.e. 1012). Thanks!

BTW, I wonder if BD-DT7800 (DVB-T2 decoder & PVR, firenze-based: hardware-wise it's essentially BD-D8500 without the Blu-ray parts), may also be rootable using this method?
Firmware branch for this model seems to be B-FIRHRDEUM.

1.i have put my router DNS setting which u recommend
2.switch device off and on again (better make a cold start, take from power for some seconds)
3.check from bd's menu for firmware update via internet (it show Failed to connect. Error code:400 invalid parameter)

What shall i do?
