Okay do more testsTOMillr wrote:Just some quick feedback on the USB method that might be helpful for others:
- the SamyGo app doesn't show up in the SmartHub when another usb stick (for DVR function) is also connected to the tv
- works with ExFAT formatted USB stick as well
Haven't tried to root 2000.2 yet, though.
[ROOT] Rooting E/F on latest firmwares
Re: Rooting F 2000.2
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)

Sure, will get back to you once I've done some more testing - but is going to take a couple of days since I'm away on a business trip.

I got the same issue un my ES8000 TV after the last SmartHub update.TOMillr wrote:Alright, I was able to transfer "WebTV2014" and the old "NHL Game Center" apps using the developer account. So this step seems to work fine. But as soon as I try to transfer the Hulu Plus or SamyGo app I get the error message again.
Maybe Samsung has tightened up the restrictions on the new firmware which apps can be transferred?
No chance to install through the develop account because at the end of the synk you get a security alert pointing you to a forum.
I tried several times and always the same. Other apps are normally installed.
I solved only with an install from USB. I used FAT32 and the widget did not show for several times. I do not know/remeber what I did but at the end after several switch off and usb plug/unplug the widget appeared and the install wa successfully performed.

Nice, thanks for chiming in. So you were able to root your tv even with the newest firmware? Can you check and see which firmware version you're on right now?miazza wrote: I got the same issue un my ES8000 TV after the last SmartHub update. Re: Rooting F 2000.2
Yes. No matter the FW version. This issue is Smart Hub related.
Play with the USB and the widget sooner or later will appear. Some times the USB need to be inserted when the TV is already on.
Some time it must be off for the SH to be detected.
It is triky but finally it worked for me.

Re: Rooting F 2000.2
Im my case, the app not appearing in the SmartHub was related to another usb stick (for the DVR functionality) being connected to the tv at the same time. Once I disconnected the second usb stick, the SamyGo widget appeared.
