Otherwise congratulations, finally :)
When you change:

Code: Select all

var timeoutValue = 5000;
to:

Code: Select all

var timeoutValue = 100;
The script is blazing fast you barely notice it :D 5000 (5 seconds) is only for testing :D No need to change the widget :D
With 100 ms is good to have this picture, just for verification that the rooting is done.
First screen is not visible with 100 ms and the second one is visible for few ms only.
You can copy the widget and data folders to any drive after the installation procedure.
I am starting root from ntfs formatted drive.

Other important step you need to uninstall old samygo widget before the procedure.
My instructions for F8000:
  • * Reboot the tv and don't plug the usb drive.
    * Open Smart Hub > Apps > More Apps and then put the usb drive and exit from the screen for new device found.
    * SamyGO -F widget will appears after that.
this is a great trick.
Now work!!!

Only as a short note - root is working on 2000.2 on a F6510 here ;-)

Disable ChannelInfo patch if you don't want it to be displayed:

Rename

Code: Select all

/mnt/etc/init.d/99_99_ChannInfoON.init
to

Code: Select all

/mnt/etc/init.d/99_99_ChannInfoON.init.dis
(then reboot TV)
how and where exactly can i change the channelinfo patch :?: :?

Use an FTP client (e.g. FileZilla) to connect by FTP to TV then rename file as explained. What is unclear :?:

On my view it does not matter which port is used - I used a 2GB flash drive and moved to further/other apps in smart hub, after 1-2 connect and disconnect it magically appeared. OTN Support was on (disabled it later)

After the flashing was done I copied it to the HDD which is used for PVR. No problems at boot or cold boot only wait 1-2 minutes.

I detected that SamyGo is not working on each boot - some times without any change it does not load, after a restart wihtout change it's magically working again. It does not matter if the files are on a flash drive or located at the drive for PVR.

Maybe there is a change possible that it try to starts it multiple times or with a delay on boot (I think sometimes the USB devices are to slow detected)?
