For what I understand, by now Samsung has no knowledge of the rooting method and latest updates shouldn't be closing it, and the firmware in my TV (JU7000) introduced som problems with Plex...

I've read every single message on this and many other threads. The post you point to says that every firmware is suitable for root when updates are blocked. What I asked is if I "should" update before root is released. I don't know if rooting has been tried with last firmwares (there's one for only a couple of days ago) or not, that's why I thought it would be better asking.
I blocked firmware updates some months ago. It would be stupid to update now if it could bring some problems...

NEVER, EVER update firmware
Nothing good comes out of it. Also with firmware updates blocked you can always update to some "safe fw".

anyways, thats not up to me. and what is root good for if we dont have/add any software?
