To see if you are transmitting:
1. download the eventghost software
http://www.eventghost.org/downloads/
2. run the software and in the configuration add the Samsung TV plugin
3. see if it will turn on/off, volume up/down etc.

That software works fine on my D8000, I can turn the TV on/off, mute, set volume etc. At lease it will tell you if you've got the right transmit pin. Also, I just use UART mode with eventghost. I too have no idea what LOGIC mode is.

Folks with C series have rooted their tv's using both custom made apps and hotel mode in the service menu. I tried the custom app route but permissions have been changed so the app could not write to where it was supposed to. Have not tried the hotel mode yet. Description of techniques is in the wiki
