And that's exactly my point ;-).

Personally, I use SamyGO PVR Manager for:
- renaming recordings (because I have to start recording few minutes before the movie/episode official start time and finish several minutes after official finish time to accommodate the real movie/episode length due to commercials)
- correcting the recording length (because, for certain reasons, I copy the edited recording back to the TV... one of the reasons is that I can't reach ALL of my multimedia via samba due to the STUPID 10 MB size limit of the Ace database file)

And I need the decrypting because I need the recorded movies/episodes to be playable in 'normal' TV mode, i.e. when SamyGO is started (because a) there is no PVR_switch for Mstar, b) it would be too complicated for the kids anyway)

Sisternicky, I think you should make a wiki page about your amazing software.

Very nice tool! Thanks a lot for the good work! :)

I have a brand new 55ES8090. I managed to copy a PVR recording to my PC (srf and mdb).
Unfortunately the TS being produced is not working. Neither with or without AF switch.

I checked the MDB with a hex editor. Starting at offset 8 I have 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 24 cc 1e 00 00 00 00 00.
This will definitely not be the DRM key I guess.
Are there any thoughts on that already?

Too bad we cannot run SamyGo on this platform to cross check using the other method...

I've added a view new things to DeSTRoi  that some users requested. So here is the new version.
Feel free to contact me about any bugs or requests.

Changes:
-- Bugfix: Application Info button was missen ... uups
-- Bugfix: SamyINF Parsing bug was fixed (but i don't this function was used before, but not exactly sure...)
-- 1.3.1: Bugfix: Fixed some type errors
-- 1.3.1: Improved decryption performance (thanks to emeska)

-- Feature: Added more movie information in the download tab
-- Feature: FTP Downloaded movies can now be double clicked in the decryption list to show detailed movie information (only movies downloaded with this version and above)
-- Feature: Added on the fly decoding (Decode the movie while downloading without temporary files)
-- Feature: Moved some functions on the GUI to make it more easy to use (hopefully)
-- Feature: Added non-anonymous FTP support. You can now enter a username and password for your FTP Server on your TV if you must (but anonymous is still an (the standard) option).
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

"Decrypt AF" description typos: "AF" stands for Adaptation Field, not Adaption Field.
I'll check the functionality tomorrow when I will actually have some new encrypted recordings ;-)

@ gooseye and merilix (or everybody else who feels up to it)
It would be great if you could merge all the fixes found so far into the commandline version of drmdecrypt and make a build for Windows and Linux (or at least provide source code which compiles under these OS's)

I'd be especially interested in a Linux version if you could also implement a switch to tell drmdecrypt where to write the decrypted *.ts file (while automatically reading key from .mdb file). This would allow to directly read the encrypted file from the XFS partition in Linux and decrypt onto an NTFS partition so it can be played in Windows. This would speed up the whole process a lot!

drmdecrypt could be used easily with a Linux Live CD (or even easier with a bootable USB stick).

I was trying the new feature - Decrypt on the fly and after 1.51 GB the download stalled and wasn't doing anything, so I had to cancel it.
Anything else working good so far. I love the decryption speed now! :D
I love SamyGO :)
