Ok, going to rawly add that as GFS: very experimentalsectroyer wrote:Zoelechat maybe we should add this tutorial to first post in H rooting?

I do NOT receive any PM. Please use forum.

I suspect it might even work on GOLFp. This guy found it by "accident"zoelechat wrote:Ok, going to rawly add that as GFS: very experimentalsectroyer wrote:Zoelechat maybe we should add this tutorial to first post in H rooting?

I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!

Re: Model: UE40H7005 Firmware: T-GFSDEUC-1142.0
I have been partly successful in rooting my non-MST TV. I do have full root access, but there are a number of remaining issues:
- Power-on timer cannot be used. Will re-initiate parts of the rooting process. This is useful for rooting, but otherwise an annoyance.
- Power-off timer (not the same as the sleep timer) is unreliable. TV will restart. It did actually work correctly initially for a day after my latest rooting, but has since then become unreliable, maybe as a result of debugging and testing. This should probably not be too hard to fix, if the cause is found.
- Virtual USB devices do not work. Is probably at least partly caused by the fact that mounting of samba shares does not work.
- Occasional reboots a few minutes after start.
- The issue that the TV spontaneously start up, even with picture, still persists, even though it is less frequent now. This is possibly related to scheduled recordings, but not necessarily.
- Sleep timer fix is not functional for the moment. Known issue. I would really like this to work.
Some of these issues could probably exist also on MST TVs.
I am seriously considering resetting/un-rooting my TV for the moment. Maybe just to try re-rooting it again.

Weird issue with virtual USB, need more troubleshooting to get knowledge is the samba module working properly (e.g. manual mount of samba shares to real fat formated usb first, vusb.init script should be disabled).

Re: Model: UE40H7005 Firmware: T-GFSDEUC-1142.0
Maybe you are right that re-rooting would not help. However, my TV was more stable on Sunday evening, Monday morning than it is right now. The power-off timer worked properly, and there were no additional reboots at that time. The power-off issues and the fact that the TV wakes up sometimes are really annoying.sectroyer wrote:Your issues are NOT rooting relatedFor instance SleepTimer won't work since it has no H support. Next thing is "occasional reboots" it usually means you should disable watchdog
Samba/virtual usb -> talk to juuso
Re-rooting is NOT an option
I switched to a "fresh" samyext4.img from 18/1, hoping that it would solve some of my problems. However, I did not disable the vusb.init script, which may have caused some of my problems. Something is wrong, since it is impossible to mount samba shares, maybe the cifs module. The cifs.ko module loads normally, but mounting does not work. Does NFS mounting work? I have not tried it myself, but I do have NFS shares on other computers.juuso wrote:Weird issue with virtual USB, need more troubleshooting to get knowledge is the samba module working properly (e.g. manual mount of samba shares to real fat formated usb first, vusb.init script should be disabled).
I noticed that there is a new samyext4.img now. What is new?

Re: Model: UE40H7005 Firmware: T-GFSDEUC-1142.0
You CAN'T solve all the issues at once
You have to focus on something. Share issues are definitely connected to modules figuring out modules will fix this. "random power on" issue probably can be resolved by fixing SM settings...
