I've already blocked the updates..if you want the donation, I need the root..;) I think we can work towards a mutually beneficial transaction. [WINKING FACE]

Remember to CHECK if your blocking was successful. Also it's best NOT to block "per ip" but whole network. Especially when you are using dhcp, tv can get DIFFERENT ip and install update!!!!!

Well, my router is a...customized Linux box, with dnsmasq blocking the whole 2 domains (listed in URLs above) across my network.
Blocking is working fine (last firmware update not detected/installed..though was a bit tempted to manually get it and check the DMP feature introduced in their latest SDK..). Thx again for the advice.
I am particularly looking for your magic in order to install the mitmproxy certificate on my JS device.
All the best.

My TV: UE55JS8000LXXH
firmware: 1460.4 (2016.07.21)

It will work? Is there a chance?

Could be tested somehow?

THX.

You can test ANYTIME. Block updates and go to main menu and TRY updating when it says "unable to connect" blocking works :)

Yes but we will wait when new fw STOPS being "new firmware" and you get auto updated because you did not block updates on router :)
