WOW!
very very nice and interesting progress! I?m very curious how this is going on
Is there a Step by Step howto, on how everything has to be done and what is needed to be set up before ?!
I read all the posts so far but I?m not 100% sure about every step and I don?t want to do something wrong
As far as I?ve understood the main point in getting custom apps to the the is the develop account @ the internet @TV application -> next thing is to run an own webserver where the patched app is hosted ?!
The other stuff with the injected code @ the USA today app seem to be more or less clear ... but it probably qould be easier to understand if all the steps needed would be in complete post or howto
But as I said ... big respect to the guys who made this possible so far !!!
Regards Bastler
PS: Another question ... does anybody has an Idea if with this hack it would be possible to change the Model of the TV ?! cause I have a C6700 at older firmwares the Model could be changed to 6800 which has USB PVR function enabled. Samsung blocked this bug at the service menue with actual firmwares and as everybody knows downgrading is not possible. Is it possible to downgrade the firmware when having telnet/root access to the TV ? or would it be possible to just change the Model type ?! would be nice to get the USB PVR feature @ the 6700

Hey Guys,
I also have good news!
As I wrote I had built a RS232 to TTL converter (simple one with a Max232 chip) and made an adaptor-cable from Serial to VGA.
This was what happend
Code: Select all
+----------------------------------------------------------+

Congratulations : All RUIS threads are terminated!!!

+----------------------------------------------------------+
So it seems like the Ex-Link ath the UE40C6700 is located at the VGA port as discribed before!
The pinout of the adaptor is:
Pin 2(RxD) at the Serial port is connected to Pin 4 (TxD) at the VGA connector
Pin 3(TxD) at the Serial port is connected to Pin 11 (RxD) at the VGA connector
Pin 5(GND) at the Serial port is connected to Pin 5,6,7 and 8 (all are GND) at the VGA connector
As written before DON?T CONNECT ! your TV set without a RS232 to TTL level adapter probably your PC or TV could get DAMAGED!!!
A simple circuit fot the converter was also posted at this thread ... so first build the adaptor and then enjoy the Serial output
Regards, Bastler
PS: Is there any way to get access to the serial console yet !? the "standard" logins weren?t working so far ....
PPS: @d1dd1 what is guide+ ?1

might it's better to use brute force script for detecting "debug" like strings. Or inspecting exeDSP via IDA might have some benefits
