It works at the first try. What gave me little problems was the configuration of my router linksys, but after that, no problems at all.
Thanks a million to all.

Hi, I also have the BD-D5700 and I just did the firmware downgrade from 1030 to 1090, it works perfectly. I just went into my wireless settings, connected to my router wirelessly entered the dns address numbers and then when i hit finish it says im connected to a local server. i then tried to do the upgrade/downgrade but it failed, so i turned it off, unplugged it fromt he wall for about 15 seconds, plugged it back in, turned it on, went into settings, hit upgrade and voila, it began to do its thing...it took about 10 minutes give or take and when it was completed it ask if you want to do the upgrade from 1030 to 1090, i said heck yes! It works perfectly now, thank you to the savior of my BD-D5700!

You can add me to the list of those with a BD-D5700 with the 1030 firmware. I'm presently trying the DNS trick and so far I'm consistently getting the "no software to upgrade" message. Does anyone have the zip file with an older, non-cinavia, firmware for this model? I'll take anything at this point. Ugh, all the restarting and sitting and waiting. Been doing it for 3 days now.
