[How To] Get root access on F series
Re: How to get root access on F series
Hello!
I tried the SamyGO-Widget on my F6270 (FW 1107), both steps were OK. FTP doesn't work, but telnet seems to.
Now i want to mount a cifs-share from my nas as a virtual usb-stick according to this howto:
http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Mounti ... ypass_DLNA
Therefor i need the cifs kernel-module, right?
Can i use the kernel module of any other tv model or do i need a certain module?
Thanks for reading and sorry for my clumsy English, german is my foreign language.

For working skype after root (you will lose root):
Delete skype and samygo widget
Turn off and on TV
Intstall skype widget

Re: How to get root access on F series
I think it's blocked on that firmware, I've just tried it on my UE55F6510 with firmware 1109.0Anyone tested rooting on firmware 1109???
When I try to install, the status bar comes up as if it's working, but then i get a message saying "Failed to install. For more information visit: http://www.samsungdforum.com/Support/TVAppsSecurity"
Is there any way to downgrade or is that it for this TV?
EDIT: I made a mistake in the widgetlist.xml file - the file size was incorrect. It now works - so I can confirm, it is possible to root this firmware.

Re: How to get root access on F series
I got it installed on Evolution Kit without any errors, but i can't connect to FTP. I get: "Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server"."
I have 1005.0 firmware, thats the latest firmware for Evolution Kit.
EDIT:
EDIT2: My Skype still works. Does that mean that the hack is not installed correctly?

EDIT:
Are you saying that someone got FTP access on Evolution kit with 1003.1 firmware? I did read the forum, do i understand correctly that he got FTP access using wireless only?juuso wrote:User from ixbt.com you`re quoting with firmware TB_FXPDEUC-1003.1 uses F rooting widget, and just only because of that he has ftp access to tv

Root also working with UA46F7100, Firmware T-MST12UABC-1103.3.
As mentioned by others above, pay special attention to the widgetlist.xml file. Ensure filesize represents the actual file size of the Samygo.zip file. In my case the file size is 1843361 bytes. I also had to change the directory in the code from <download>http://{computers IP address}/widget/SamyGO.zip</download> to <download>http://{computers IP address}/SamyGO.zip</download>. This is likely to be the variable that's causing issues for some out there in getting the samygo widget on to the tv.
UA46F7100 rooted and with multi-region widgets
