Tell me the truth: this method is posted for almost a year ago and a lot of happy users reported about success by following those steps.
If you got problems, this means you haven`t done what is supposed to do right way. All what i suggest is to force you to read steps again and check for your mistakes. From this what you`ve posted i don`t understood what is your problem.

Hi. Your tv model is ci+ and it is not possible to downgrade.

This topic is about ci models with t-chl5deuc but not chl5cipdseuc.

Actually yes. Manual way is not much tested and is too dangerous.

i just upgraded my firmware for my LE40B550XXU tv
from fw : T-CHL5DEUC-1008.0
to fw: T-CHL5DEUC-2009.0 (step 1 only)
how do i roll back to previous so i can watch movie files

but I'm a bit lost on step 2
do i need to use the same usb on both occasions
and do i have to do the below or can i leave it as is after the usb flash
'After TV flashes new firmware and reboots, You be able access u-boot and TOP debug menu over ExLink'
because i never used u-boot for a ex-link cable
