Hi, this is a great app, I was supprised, that I'm able to decode also the recordings that I did before the root..
At the beginnig I had problems with buffer underruns for buffer size set to 1, no other options (including serialization) helped, but it seems I found my magic number => 40. I think it could have something to do with downloading speed which is around 25 Mbit/s in my case. Sometimes I used also netlimiter as someone mentioned here, but I think it's not necessary. I think that batch decoding also doesn't work for me (maybe for a very short files it does, but I use it most of the times for 7-8 GB recordings), but I don't need it. If decoding doesn't work for the other recording, I just restart the PVRDecoder, sometimes even TV and it works again, thanks a lot!
I had also one serious problem with decoding, but I solved it. The decoding process of 7,35 GB file worked fine until it reached 2,07 GB, then it jumped suddendly from 2,07/7,35 to 7,35/7,35 and wrote that the file was downloaded succesfully. This happened every time. Then I found out there not enough space on the USB drive I used for recordings, there was exactly just 2,07 GB free, that's why it stopped everytime. It's because the PVRDecoder didn't delete the decrypted recordings from the USB drive even when I had set to delete temporary files without asking.. When I backed up some of the recordings and deleted it from the USB, it worked fine.. Maybe this will help to someone else, I didn't know before that I have leave enough free space on the USB drive.

Hey

at first - thank you for your hard work developing great scripts like this one!
i installed it on my H6500 TV, and tested it successfully there..works like a charm!

But on my H6600:
Everytime i try to decrypt a recording and transfer it to my PC, my TV crashes...i have to power cycle him..
PVRDecoder says:

Code: Select all

 Connecting to 192.168.1.14:21 .. Success
 Querying recordings on TV ...
Verifying telnet access to 192.168.1.14:23 .. Success
 Last action aborted ...
 Querying recordings on TV ...
Verifying telnet access to 192.168.1.14:23 .. Success
All recordings on USB listed. Waiting for user.
Examining DRM-ststus of the recording ..
Recording is "forced" into DRM protected mode.
 Uploading decoder library to TV
 Removing any old work log
Starting the decoding process on TV
Waiting for TV to produce feedback ... 00:00:04 seconds (max. 5 sec.)
UnDRM.log never seemed to appear in /dtv .. 5 second timeout expired. Cannot continue.
Process FAILED somewhere down the road for 20151118191608.srf.
No recordings found. Waiting for user.
 GetUSBInfo "Client lost connection"
 Failed to disconnect from FTP..
 Connecting to 192.168.1.14:21 .. (1/100)
 GetUSBInfo FAILED to Reconnect ..
Operation finished .. Waiting for user..
any ideas?

one more thing i have to say..
on the recordings list, i see one entry with duration: [RECORDING] but the tv is actualy NOT recording, and the file is not present when i seek it on the TV itself...
when i try to delete it via PVRDecoder - it says:
Unwilling to delete 20151108191404.srf while it is recording.
Deleted 0 files. Finished ..

hmmmm...whats up??

update:14:20 -
delete the false [recording] item, but problem still exists, when i press decrypt in PVRDecoder...my TV crashes (tv is working - remote is not)
after reboot tv works fine again..

what up? does nobody have an idea?? im helpless without u folks!

i keep trying by my self to solve this problem but i cant get any forward progress :/
as soon as i hit decode selected recordings, my TV make strange sounds like a modem or something, and the remote doesn't work anymore..

doesn't matter which toggle i set in settings the result stays the same :(

Sorry long delay .. I visit this forum far too seldom. My life have taken so many turns, and I have so many other tasks.

But regarding your issue ..

I think you might have skipped the "procedure" for adapting a PVRDecoder-instance to the "TV-instance" :-)

Lets read a paragraph from the download page:

STATUS & NEWS

14-04-2015:
- New version 1.8.2.53 has been released to this page.
- Improved decoder plugin for H-series. You need to experiment with best value that does not crash your TV .. ask sectroyer ;-)
- Restored an otherwise deprecated netcat module to support a fallback option for TV?s not supporting true Telnet.
- Added optional output of debug-codes to log, to facilitate very precise bug-reports.
- Fixed a huge amount of very minor issues. Left behind many more.
- Note: A few strings will remain in english no matter what language is selected. This might be updated in a later release.

OK - the keyword, or rather, keyname here is "sectroyer".

sectroyer realized that he would be needing some "magic value" that was individual for each H-model .. And thus he instructed
me to allow the user to set his very own "magic value".

You need to try again, and again, and again, until you "stumble" over a good magic-value.

For every time you fail, modify the magic value and try again.

The magic value can be found as a slide-bar in SETTINGS -> OTHER

Start with the value 10, and increase by 2 or 3 for each test .. or select any random buffersize .. results are random anyway.
(Until you finally find it .. then things seem to run smoothly "forever")

And if all else fails, seek advice with sectroyer ... as it was said on the downloadpage :-)

Best of luck.

ehm..one single value between 10 and 4000 with 2 point steps? i tried allready about 50 values..no luck

feels like the Needle in a Haystack :D

update:
yesterday night i could make about 50 tests, because the tv hadn't crashed after any try..
but today, after each test the TV crashes...and i am not sure if it is a good idea, to power Cycle a TV for about 100 times in a row :/

i guess i need sectroyer indeed  it just doesn't make any sense to go on this way..

I agree - it sucks - but, - apparently sectroyer hit some kind of wall that prevented him doing an "entirely" generic algotithm.

And the very bad resolution of the slidebar is my problem. I designed the UI before I was informed about possible min- and max-values.

A small trick that may help you here is to only select the slidebar with the mouse, and then use left & right cursorkeys on keyboard.
That should yield better control to select a specific value.

I suggest you search the board for threads about this value .. it seems most have success in the 30-100 area.

About powercycling your TV .. I agree again .. During development of all functions in the PVRDecoder I lost a PSU in a F-model.
It was handled by warrenty, but still :-)

But .. I urge you to be a pioneer like most of us here on the board .. Intensify your battle, fry the damd PSU,
and then order service on warrenty .. if you are eligble ... if not ... damd :-)
