Simple as that

Hi sectroyer,
Thank you for your quick answer.
I have configured with rw permissions in samba init script.
The samba share is used also in other media players (popcorn hour) and it is fully accessible.
Yesterday I tried again to read a file and it started the play for one second then reboot.
So unfortunately it seems not to be a permissions problem..
Any other hint?
Can I check some log?
Thanks!
I don't see ANYWHERE that you checked if it's NOT permissions problem

You only said you tried "in some other player" that might NOT require write access

Telnet to tv and try creating files EVERYWHERE on your samba

Hi sectroyer,
I checked the write permission to samba share from tv and it seems that there is no problem with permission. I connected to tv with ssh, then copied a text file to one of the samba share directories containing one of the media that forces the tv to reboot. No problem at all, the text file was written and I also was able to read (less) it.
The strange thing is that sometimes it seems that a file starts for some seconds then the tv stucks and reboots...
Is there a way to get some log of what is happening? Any other hints? I am getting crazy with this problem...
Thank you!

No log

Check if same files are playable from usb

For me it STILL looks like permissions problem and/or your SMB server settings

I hope it is.... I am using the samba.init script "bundled" with SamyGO, the share is mounted with rw option, credentials are the same used for accessing from pc or other media boxes.
I will try checking samba mount options and try playing the same exact files that reboot the TV from a USB key.
Thank you

Well it doesn't matters since your PC or "other media boxes" are NOT H tv

Yes actually

I did some more tests: I can play the files from usb but the same file played from samba forced the TV to reboot.
I tried to mount the samba share using the three different lines included in the samba init script... Always same behaviour
What seems strange to me is that I have been able to start playing one file (my reference file) one or two times during my numerous tests... If it were rw problems I think I should have never been able to play anything at all...
The samba share is a synology nas were there actually is very few to configure, just the access permissions for the specific user (which of course are, for the user used in SamyGO samba init script, read and write).
Any other suggestions? One of my main reasons for rooting was actually to be able to play media from a samba share..

I have been unable to root my following TV.
UN75HU8550
T-GFP8AKUC-2260.3
T-GOLAUSS6-1008
I followed all the steps except one option that didn't exist on my TV.
Menu->System->General->Quickly Power OFF Samsung - this option must be OFF
Is there anyway around it or is it too late for my TV?

Yeah. No problem. Try disabling OTN Support ASAP and blocking updates on router
