3D on non 3D UHD tv

hello
I have a Samsung UE60JU6800 which is not a 3D enabled tv...If I buy a 3D enabled Samsung blueray player, will it be possible to watch 3D movies or not?
Also when I enter Service Menu, there is a setting which says "3D Support OFF". What will it happen if I change this setting to "ON"?

active 3d with battery glasses
passive 3d with cinema glasses (no battery)

Never heard of passive 3D on Samsung's
For 3D you need a 100/120Hz panel, you don't have one since your TV is NOT 3D. Simple as that.

I thought is was 1400Hz
It says "Refresh mode optimization 1400 Hz" or this is something else?
