Open msd file ?

Would it be possible to open that upgrade msd file and change values for example with a hex editor or a better programm?
My idea to change fw version value my ue40j5580 is sadly on 1442. Id like to change that 1442 works bad.
Has someone tried with develop instat of userwidget on a usb stick?
