Could we find serial number of tv via program?

Hi,
Does TV's serial number at the box is available as a info at TV's sw and we could find it programmatically?

No, and I don't think it's anywhere in "software", it would only depend on mainboard anyway. "GetSerialNumber" functions are there but leading to something empty returning nothing (maybe used in the past? No idea, I checked E only...)
Getting into Samsung Contact menu is enough to understand:

What was the purpose of knowing it in software way?

Sectroyer,
At service menu it doesn't matches the real SN at backside. It is 0123456789ABCDEF at my last check If I remember correctly.
Does mine damaged or It matches the sticker at back of your TV?
zoelechat,
I am working on national tv broadcaster tax label system this days. Just researching ways to implement digital labels for it.
I know it doesn't put real SNs for E series. But after 3 years I thought they might started it to match SW with real SNs. with J series.
