Go to your local shop center and check how it looks like from the distance 4 meters. No one can ansver you such kind of question.

Such tests lie. He should download some good sample of different res, put on usb, go to shop and ask somebody to play "randomly" different files. If he can't distinguish resolutions it's TOO FAR. When I performed such test (I don't know if there are ANY public results of such blind test) on my friends and family members we were really shocked. Often it was even to hard to recognize which one was 480p
