Skype - any way I can force it back onto my Dad's J series?

We had turned off firmware updates, but had missed the app updates setting. Loaded up smart hub today and it went and removed Skype. On my h series I prevented this by blocking updates and Skype still works great on there. So, is there a way I can hack the J series and get Skype back? I expect a lot of users will be looking to do the same.

You want NOT working Skype ? I can send you mine :) Also check my signature :) You did NOT turn off firmware updates. Such option does NOT exist :)

Yes - sorry - I meant "Software Update". I only had the one option, but on my Dad's J Series there was an option to turn off Software updates which I did, but I missed the 2nd "App updates" option in Smart HUB. As a result we lost Skype and since its still working on my F Series I think it would also be working on the J Series too? So how do I get it back?

I think it's theoretically possible.

I mean, if you you get official Tizen skype app from someone, got root, you could somehow run it (but there still a chance that it will not work).

Or maybe you can put android skype app in TV and make it work(you need something like http://www.openmobileww.com/products-an ... acl-works/, also require root).

Or use https://eltechs.com/run-skype-on-raspberry-pi/ (needs root)

Or you can ask samsung ... (this is most unrealistic   )
