Hi, i have EU SAMSUNG JS 8500 curved tv. I use USB dongle for pvr and for timeshift. It's Kingston 128GB traveler ultimate 3.0 Q3.

This dongle should be enough quick for recording or playing movies. It's connected to one connect box.

My issue is that during recording or timeshift when I watch recorded movie but not live, but it is e . g. 10 minutes older them live Chanel, it not playing fluently but it stops sometimes for second or half second every minute or so. I tied formatted again with tv tool but it's still the same. I know, that Samsung in guide write only for PVR hdd, but when u use 32GB key it works perfectly.

Any suggestions pls?

I tried smaller version of this USB stick (8GB), but it's not suitable for PVR... And never support TimeShift...

I'm using 120GB SSD HDD and I've best performance...

Second, Sandisk Extreme 32GB (USB3.0 on USB2.0 slot), good performance
And also 320 GB SATA HDD, normal performance...

If you will use Timeshift for a longtime, I strongly suggest 120 GB SSD HDD...

I looked for 128 gb ssd but it was much more expensive as this 128 gb. My usb key cost about 50 Eur. And smallest ssd was about 130 here in Slovakia. This was my reason to buy this USB key. And I believed, that the speed is good enough but it seems, that's not.
