I used to be able to switch the country code on my parent's F6270 with the usual button combination (Mute > Return > Vol+ > Ch+ > Mute) mentioned in the wiki. However, it seems Samsung has disabled this with a recent firmware update.

The RETURN Button now simple quits out of the SmartHub setup process instead of bringing up the usual country list like it did before.

Is there another way to switch the region of the SmartHub? Maybe through the service menu?

Right, I still have root access. Did you notice this change before?

EDIT: Looks like I'll do a firmware downgrade. Do you happen to know which firmware version still allowed users to change the country code?

Weird, the old code "FF 289 REW" seems to be working now.
Did this code also work before and I just wasn't aware of it?
