Hi there,

I've heard this is THE place to get help for Samsung TVs.

I have a Samsung UE60JU6000 which isn't working and out of warranty. Before paying someone to fix it I'd like to have a go at fixing it myself.

When I try turning the TV on with remote the screen doesnt come on and the status light blinks 5 times.
I can connect to the TV with my Samsung S7 phone and can Mirror the TV screen on my phone - use menus etc. so guess the motherboard is working
I opened the TV and inspected the powerboard and motherboard but couldn't see any bulging capacitors / anything suspect.
I've tried turning it off for 24 hours and back on but that doesn't help.

Therefore I presume:

Motherboard is OK - I can see the screen display on my phone
Powerboard is NOK - it's not taking the screen out of standby

So I was going to buy a spare powerboard off ebay for 30 pounds and see if it works.

Does this sound like a good approach?

Update:

I've just switched the power board and get the exact same symptoms.

Red LED blinks 5 times and no picture.

I guess my next thing to replace is the motherboard?
