Thanks for the post. Firstly, Samsung releasing "partial" source of their TVs. Not all of them. So you can't have full open sourced firmware nor cannot compile basic open sourced parts with "make" command. AFAIK, samsung just release linux kernel code, nothing more. Key part of firmware like exeDSP program is closed source. But if samsung don't release source codes for 5xxx series, than we could ask politely why they don't released them.

Our compatibility list is just started for C series. It's not complete and doesn't has any C5000 series TV but this doesn't mean we don't have support for it. It's high probability that you could hack your TV with current tools, but no one reported for your model yet.. Internal structure of those TVs are all same...

Telnet/SSH Enable stuff does not required because SamyGO extensions pack supersedes that packages.

For C series, there is 2 way to hack this TV's, first way is Internet@home approach, other one via USB hack... I believe your TV could hacked/rooted via this to ways.

I think you could look B series Wiki. Since structure quite similar, same information also ok for C series too.

Will try to prune some pages from Wiki and merge some other pages. They needed to touched some...
If you want to do some changes at wiki pages, I could edit your account as wiki editor.

Regards,
Erdem

You can try hack tv with USB and channel export/import setting way (as C550) but just in case if ext3 is recognized by TV.
Ok, i got. If your firmware is from MStar (T-MSX5DEUC) as on C5000 model, (other supported firmwares are - T-TDT5DEUC, T-VALDEUC), you can hack your TV. Read this postand you can make the same. Tell result you get.
