Re: Hacking Samsung TV in same way as dlink NAS

Dear stefanth,
What you mention is quite interesting, the thought crossed my mind also.
For everyone who doesn't know what this is all about, have a look at http://wiki.dns323.info/start.
To have a fun_plug-like environment for our TVs would certainly be possible, with one restriction: The DLINK NAS has this fun_plug feature built in.
Our TV's do not, so you still have to break into them in some way. In essence, the SamyGO extensions pack does pretty much the same as fun_plug by fonz. Also, the DLINK software poses no restrictions on startup speed, code authentication etc. So that platform is far more easily accessible than our TV's are.
And then of course, the number of applications for fun_plug is quite high, whereas SamyGO is just taking off as a platform to build software for. The extensions package by arris69 basically is for Samsung TVs what fun_plug is for DLINK NAS's.
Another BIG advantage that fonz has, is the very limited number of different hardware platforms to build for. Sammy builds twenty-odd different hardware/software versions each year, while DLINK NAS's have been restricted to two or three platforms so far.
