Hi,
I'm new to samygo, I started reading the wiki and playing with some stuff written there since last week so I have a lot of questions now, here comes the first one.
I have a Samsung UN40C6500 tv that comes with the firmware T-VALDTWC-1002.0, which isn't listed on the supported models. On the wiki says that if a tv model and firmware isn't listed it doesn't necessarily means that it isn't supported, just that samygo haven't been tested on that tv model. What I can't find is what I have to do to know if my tv is supported and in that case which extension pack to install.
For example, I would want to install the extension pack, and as I said, there isn't an extension pack for my firmware, so which one should a try? and is there any kind of test I could perform to know if the selected extension pack won't brick my tv ?
Thanks.

So no hints to get it running ? as I said, I know that if my tv isn't listed in the supported models doesn't mean that samygo won't work on it, but I need to know how to proceed, which extension pack to test, etc.
I'll promise I'll publish my results with this tv.

try the latest version from here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/samygo/ ... lications/
highly recommend:
after you extracted the package to usb delete the directory SamyGO/etc/init.d and get the latest versions from svn,
http://samygo.svn.sourceforge.net/viewv ... /?view=tar
and replace also the files SamyGO/rcSGO and SamyGO/etc/rc.sysinit with the versions from svn,
http://samygo.svn.sourceforge.net/viewv ... /?view=tar
then do some configuration for (password and usename for your windows shares, ev. delete some service files what you don'T plan to use...)
but i don't know how jou can start the stuff (widegt hack or hotelmode)

We need stripped hotel mode hack witch includes telnet only. in this case we get full compatibility with SamyGO all extensions.
I informed Perforator about confising miscompatibility already.

When you say "we", are you referring to "we" the owners of UN40C6500 models, or "we" the samygo developers ?

I ment "we" - whole samygo community. Hack is for C series, so "we" could be accepted as all owners of C series TV

Hi !!
I had forgotten about this and today I got some time to give it a try. I have successfully installed SamyGO extensions on a UN40C6500 with a T-VALDTWC-1002.0 firmware and got SSH root access using the "
How to get root access on a C series TV" HOW-TO guide. If there's nothing more to test with the extensions, you can add this TV model and firmware version to the supported devices list.
Now I'm playing with configuring some shares to be able to see my movies without using any DLNA software (which all have proven to be a PITA in some way or another).
Thanks !!
