Hi - I had a similar experience with a UE32C6880, which I bought refurbished. I guess the TV is not for the UK market ie does not carry the Freesat logo and does not show 7-day epg listings, only now/next. My set is awaiting repair (faulty power supply capacitors), but I hope to find settings in the service menu to switch on Freesat support, since some other models are designed for Freesat.
Does your model have BBC iplayer on internet@TV? If not then read the wiki for how to change the region code to UK to add that.

Hi uzlf - yes, changing the info_link country to "UK" adds UK specific internet@TV apps eg iplayer, but it does not alter the regionalisation of the TV re air/cable/satellite reception.
@ patcheen, you can add all freesat channels manually by inserting correct transponder (tuning) details. Look up current settings on
www.lyngsat.com for Astra 28e. You will still be missing the genuine Freesat channel ordering/numbering and 7-day epg infos.

On my UE32C6880 (made for Swiss/German markets) there is choice of something like German / Austria / ??? / Other in the menu Dish/Country. Only 4 or so named countries, I have it set at "Other". The TV runs the same firmware, T-VALDEUC, as other C-series, for all of Europe. I guess it is the same for the original poster's UE40C6700.
Either the model number or other settings in the (extended) service menu must dictate what software features, country etc are enabled (or not).
