Try set audio to internal TV speaker and make recording. If problem still remains, upgrade firmware to 3005. I do not know any explanation of this behavior, i never heard about it before, at least on C series recordings.
If you feel better- B series owner have similar problem - recording w/o audio. But here is an easy solution - watch recorded movie on PC and here is possible to switch audio track to right one.
Might you can switch between audiotracks?
