If you do not find any solution, upgrade to 3007. Might it solves your skype-issue.
If you want hack TV, you can do it over HotelMode. It works on the latest firmware.

HotelMode hack is not the same as widget hack. And as you already know - here is serious problem - TV might brick if reboot, halt or shutdown is performed. But if you be careful enough and do not use those commands - it is ok.
