Himmm, it's looks like HW problem if you don't press a menu button on your remote accidentally.(Or other infrared signal in your environment )
Try with remote signal blocked.(To sure if the command doesn't sent from your remote). Might be just your remote is broken.
Than please contact to Samsung service. Nothing to do here.

some kind of light bulbs does interfere with IR of TV.

Oh really? I wondered if I can code an application to send IR messages to TV with using led flashlight of my phone. Yes, It's not IR LED but might work...
