I have not noticed that problem, despite trying many different Windows servers. Maybe the problem is on your MAC or Linksys server.

Mediatomb needs some custom headers set up for the Samsung TV to play video, but I don't know about pictures. Serviio has a Linux version, and this has specific support for Samsung TVs.
