Cable you found is USB to Serial and it isn`t the exlink cable for C series. It could be the part of ExLink if you do not have com port on your PC (e.g. netbook...)
Search for CA-42 nokia cable, you can make it suitable for your needs. Or any other usb to TTL converter.

IMHO you can modify your CA-53 (need to check)
Pinout is the same as dku-2

But you have to check it before to use, because i found this disclaimer

A CA-42, or DKU-5 (some later Nokia phone cables e.g. the DKU-2, CA-53, CA-70 - which look similar are actually pure USB cables with no transceiver - DON'T use these, they won't work, and you might break your linkstation or USB port - you can tell because the USB plug is shorter, they are also a bit cheaper - if you want to double-check, use a multimeter to check whether the contacts of the USB "A" plug are connected directly to those of the pop-port).

I can confirm, my CA-42 is fully working for serial acces to my NAS buffalo. It seems here are few types of cables (with TTL converter and without). Cable with voltage converter has bigger USB part (much longer than simple USB cable).
