Nope. Firstly you cannot record your HDMI stream since it requires too much computational power that your TV doesn't have, also copying the stream directly to USB (without compression) it requires big bandwidth and USB 2.0 cannot handle that not your Flash disks...
You can root that monitor but don't expect too much things like that.

Also you cannot install "alternative" firmware since it doesn't exists. We also don't have any alternative firmware but using Samsung's original firmwares with small modifications and those are not required for modals > 2010...

I don't know if it's works on your dongle (might be different processor at your monitor) but you could try.
I think you can also connect USB / mouse via USB... I don't know what works on there definitely.
You just needed to try every thing at your monitor.
If you root the device, it's a computer, with limited power... Do what ever you want :)

You can check your firmware in Service menu (the first post of this thread). From firmware you can see what type of processor is.
