[SOLVED] LE37B550 --> B650 by changing PCB

Hi, as in the title I have a LE37BB50A5WQXU on firmware T-CRLPEUWC-2004.0, I've been trying to get shell access over an ex-link cable but I've been having problems as nothing shows up in the terminal on my PC even after trying several different applications.
I currently have the cable plugged into the headphone jack on the back of the TV but I've read several posts referring to a specific 'service port' so I looked at my back panel and my manual and there is no sign of a 'service port' but when looking at the online manual for my TV in the picture showing connections they have a headphone jack and a separate service port. So I was wondering if the headphone on my TV is also the service port or should I be connecting to the TV another way such as the USB port?
Also I have watchdog turned off in the service menu along with debug mode set to runtime and to make sure my cable was working I shorted out the send/recieve on the 3.5mm end and I got echoed back everything I sent so its definitely not the cable.

Thanks.

SOLVED. The B550 become B650. More about read from here.

I think your Service port is not the headphones socket, but it is on USB, like in B530 with the same firmware. If you searched forum, you know that we do not support this model, because of limited features, but you can research your Tv and sure you get our support...

Thanks for the reply, I know it is not currently supported but I thought that was due to the firmware not being available as the firmware you can download from the samsung website does not include the proper files, this is why I wanted to get shell access and dump the exe partition. Anyway, do you have any links to show how to get shell access over USB? as I've searched and can only find information on getting access over the 3.5mm port and in the newer TV's using the vga port.

Yes, that`s a good question. I didn`t see such schematic here as well, indeed one of our users reported about successful ExLink over USB port.

Still haven't found anything about shell access using the TV's USB port, do you think its more likely that I could gain access using the VGA port even though it is an older model?

Since my last post I've tried getting shell access over USB and through the VGA port without much success, If i hook up the TV's USB port to my computers COM port and start a terminal everything I type is echoed back to me. I'm not sure whether this is meant to happen as there is nothing on these forums about shell access over USB and the TV does not respond to debug commands nor does the boot log appear on turning on the TV so I'm a bit stumped as to what to do here.
As for the VGA I decided to use a USB to TTL adapter. I hooked up the Tx, Rx and GND to the correct pins but recieve nothing in a terminal, on the adapter there are 3.3v and 5v pins, am I meant to do anything with these? I'll upload some pictures later of my cable/setup.

Sorry for the double post but I think I've worked out why I haven't been able to get any ex-link output. I decided to open up my TV and have a look at the board again to see if there was a button like on the C-series or anything and I noticed that there was actually an empty space for a audio jack that had CN5010_TEST written under it so I think they've just removed the jack off the board and all I need to do is solder one back on which shouldn't be too hard.

Here's a picture of the missing jack:

So now I need to solder a jack onto the board does anyone know the specific type of jack I need? or where I can purchase one in the UK? In the mean time I'll check ebay and see if I can find any.

I think you need not only jack, but some other elements too. Better to compare to another board where this Servce port exist.
What about type of jack, it doesn`t matter... you could solder wires and jack whatever you want.

What kind of other elements do you think I'll need? to me it just looks like the jack has been desoldered from the board where the 3.5mm service port is normally located on all B series TV's.
Also I believe a normal 3.5mm stereo jack has 3 pins where as the picture clearly shows there should be 6 pins so I doubt I can buy a normal jack and solder it on with wires.
