BD-D6900 firmware reverting?

Hello!
I want to upgrade firmware from 1001.4 to 1006.0 in Samsung BD-D6900.
Can this operation be reversed after successful updating? I mean, can one downgrade firmware version from 1006.0 to any lower version?
Can somebody try to downgrade his/her updated device?
Second question: where can I download old B-FIRURDEUC 1001.4 firmware?
If somebody wants, I have official firmwares from 1002.0 up to 1006.0.

You can try to extract 1001.4 from BD player.
Also I can send request to Samsung opensource manager for having that image.
But it might take a week to put that firmware online.

Let me ask you one simple question:
how?

Do they put firmwares there as well as sources? If so, it would be nice to have older firmwares as well
(also pre-1008.0 firmwares of T-CHL7DEUC for B-Series TV).

Doesn't it possible to extract firmwares by
dd? Yeah that time you cannot flash for authld check
I don't think if they put the sources. They say will put every old firmwares with time but we can ask for prioritize some.
They put like
T-CHL5DEUC-*
T-CHLCIPDEUC-2006_0
T-CHU7DEUC-3000_G
T-CHUCIPDEUC-3000_0

We have misunderstood each other. I didn't see firmware files on Samsung opensource site, because
there are no firmware files in AV section (blu-rays). I didn't notice there are many firmware files in TV section of that site. But I am looking for blu-ray firmware (1001.4) now and I can see only source files (I mean open source GPL libraries, toolchains etc.) there.
Maybe they will put all available firmwares but we don't know if there will be older ones (I suppose, FW 1001.4 probably newer was online).
About dumping current firmware using dd command: still don't know how, because I have no telnet access to that BD player. Maybe I missed something
The point of my question is: can I upgrade to 1006.x without further problems? I want to avoid such problems like with 3xxx firmwares for B-series TV's that blocked downgrade operation. Is is safe to upgrade BD-D6900? Will be downgrading possible after that?
This is the question asked rather for people who already upgraded their BD-D6900 firmware and could check if downgrade is possible now.

Ahh. I thought that they was rooted and you have telnet connection to device.
Denny told that latest BD firmwares has restrictions like USB execution.. Don't know about if its possible for 1006.x And if you want I could request older firmwares of BD firmware modal and version.
Thanks.

I've got an answer that there is no
official way for downgrade.
EDIT (dec'11): Self-answering

: holding
EXIT button for 10s could help downgrading.
