AFAIK they uses different CPU than ARM. So that programs cannot run on our TV's.
for me (bd-p1600) it would be also interesting to analyze and patch different firmwares.
I would like to use an US firmware which his netflix and pandora support built in,
but if I managed to install it on a European (XEF) model my BD region would also
be set to US, rendering it useless for watching EU discs....
