TIMESHIFT MANUAL VS AUTO

Hi, I enabled pvr on my ue32c6500, with downgrade to firmare zero then upgraded to 3005.1.. all it's ok!
Now when I enter in the mediaplayer in the window of my tv files I can press the "tool" button on my remote control and I see a function:
TIMESHIFT and I can choose between MANUAL or AUTO
so what is the difference? What is doing timeshift manual vs timeshift auto???
