Enable PVR and MHP on LE32C530 with T-TDT5DEUC

Hi,
I have a Samsung LE35C530 TV (nay, my father has a LE35C530...) bought in Italy. I've read articles about "light hacks", that don't require hacking the firmware, but simply configuring service and hotel mode menus. So I've read the articles "How to enable MHP for C-Series" and "Enabling PVR on C-Series".
MHP:
I've followed the procedure, and I get the new option in the settings menu, but when tune in a channel that contains data service (Canale 5, Italia 1, Rete 4, but also Rai) I don't see any "D", and MHP doesn't work. When I hover the new option the "status bar" says that if I disable that option, I should press "data service" button on my remote to load MHP apps. In my remote there isn't (of course...) any "Data service" button...

PVR:
I've followed again the procedure, but nothing changes.

Do I need to make "dangerous" changes to my TV's firmware? (I say "dangerous" because I don't have the Ex-link cable to reset the television...)

O.T.:
Can the Hotel@USB hack to run custom apps damage my TV? Should I buy an Ex-link cable before starting the hack or I can hack it safely?

Thanks...

Hi, C530/550 have very limited firmware and all what you can do on it - get root, run SamyGO Extentsions and have nfs/samba mounts for your media player. Here are some apps available for Trident...
MHP: I think the TDT5DEUC has no code for mhp and pvr even the service menu contains options to switch those functions "on". It won`t work.
PVR: no pvr for this model. Until now. And i doubt it will.
O.T: yes, hack can harm your TV. But usually it doesn`t.

Oh, thanks!

So I can try to hack it?

I don't quite understand how to make ex-link cable (the VGA one) with USB TTL converters like this one: it is very cheap, I don't have to pay shipping, but I don't know how to connect cables... where can I find an howto?

yes, this exlink cable is perfect. You just need to set required service menu values and use right pins on your VGA connector.
You can try to hack your (parents) TV, but you should know the procedure has potential risk to brick also in hacking stage.
I suggest you to read related topic and don`t speed up ;)

Thanks, but what about this:

Just another question: I've seen that restoring the settings (by holding exit for 15 seconds) doesn't restore the settngs I set in the service and hotel menu. If I try to hack it, and something goes wrong but the TV still works except some features (like the USB), is there any way (with service/hotel menu) to restore all the settings and remove the files I may add without using the ex-link cable?
