Hello!

I'm new to TV hacking but used to work a lot with mobile phones, rooting and stuff. I have purchased a PS50C530 TV on Trident platform T-TDT5DEUC firmware 1023.0

Can you please briefly explain me the benefits of hacking my TV on T-TDT5DEUC firmware (I already changed model to c550 so I'm able to use wifi dongle now)!

Will the hack allow me to:

1. browse internet on my TV?
2. install apps - games, mobile remote control app etc.?
3. will i be able to control my TV from my android mobile?
4. what else will i gain?

I also noticed the TV has only 1 USB port which I will be using for wifi dongle, but where then should I connect other dongle with Samygo in it? Can I use HDMI port to connect the Samygo usb dongle?

I would really appreciate it very much if any experienced user could comment on this!

Cheers guys!

Karlis

No.

No, partially: limited list of apps is available on the wiki (for trident only).

No.

Basically the main feature you can get is mounting network resources (samba, nfs) to bypass dlna. Also some webgui to handle settings and services. For trident (actually yours) here are some ported apps. Check c series wiki.

You can use powered USB HUB (or not powered, might work might not) and connect any other USB devices.
