Access to German apps with US-TV?

All,
appreciate your help and support on the following issue:
Just bought a Samsung UN60D7050 (that is obviously a US version). However, I am German and I would like to have access to the German samsung app-store. I was wondering if there is a way to install a different firmware in order to pretend that this was a German TV?
Any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Timo

I have a Canadian Television and I wanted USA apps. I was able to gain access to the American app store. Here is what I did:
I followed the directions contained in this forum thread: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3957
I had to activate the extended service menu in my tv to get to gain access to the options in the previous mentioned post. I followed these directions from the wiki: http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Activa ... mple_steps
Then to gain access to the American app store, in the same menu where you change the OTA settings, I also changed my "Infolink Country" to USA. I don't know if Germany is included, but only one way for you to find out!

Good luck, and be careful careful careful you DO NOT change something in those menus that you don't want to. A small mistake can lead to a bricked TV. Taking screen shots with a camera is not a bad idea.

.... or you could do the simple trick of pressing Smarthub, then FF (>>), then 2 8 9 then REW (<<) on the remote :)
It'll show 'internet service location setup' and give you choice of countries to use Smarthub for... I think this is what you're looking for and it doesn't involve messing around in service menus.

So that method is in the owners manual, isn't it.

Not in my owner's manual :)
From what I've been told it's a hidden way of changing smarthub region... but that is what you wanted to do, isn't it?

I also have gained developer mode. What that gets me that is different, I am not sure.

Worked for me,

But like the previous poster says, I don't get anyting I need? All that I need is in my default country settings;-)

But nice to know how to change it.

Right, but when you go through that, doesn't that uninstall the default i.e. american widgets and install default widgets for the country you change to, in this case Germany? It sure does for me.... plus then you can go to the app store/icon in top right and choose widgets from that region...

I did the FF (>>), then 2 8 9 then REW (<<) method to change to US app store.
I then installed netflix.
I set up the tunlr.net DNS settings to enable US netflix in UK.
The netflix app is telling me that it is "unable to stream to this area" :(
Is it checking some other parameter on the TV to check locale?
Anyone know how to defeat this?

I have a UK netflix account but silly samsung not providing UK apps on any 2011 TV other than 7000 and 8000 :(
