Avoid undesired app updates

Hi all,

I think the Samsung way of dealing with app updates is somehow right, but on the other hand it is not... let me explain:
Q: Why ok?
A: This is ok mostly from their point of view - if they force TVs to update apps every time a new version is released, they ensure that any bug they discover (I think mainly regarding security of paying services) is gone.
Q: Why not ok?
A: This is mostly from users point of view. Eg: YouTube 1.059 is full of bugs and the user does not have the choice to go with the previous version in case it reads on the Internet that some particular app version is faulty.
Note: no other provider (Apple, Android) does force user to update apps, only tell him that a new version for app X is available.

What would be the solution?
As I see it, the solution would be a particular DNS (as I saw already, there is such a special DNS, but with other goals) that will cut off only Samsung update targets/servers, but the Internet is working for any other targets/servers.
A second solution would be to cut off TVs connection to the update target/server from a firewall. Does anybody know which that is?

Please let me know if there were discussions on this or if there are solutions for it!!!

Cheers everyone!!!

There was a key combination to change the country setting on the device. Normally, after you change the country and go to the SmartHub, it will update all the apps according to your country. When it does that, you can check the logs on your router to see what servers the TV connects to to update the apps. After you have the servers, you should be able to block the TV from accessing those servers from your router.

I blocked samsung update site in my firewall (i use a linux based firewall on my network)
- no more updates
- some apps that use internet work, others dont (i assume that they workt like the webbrowser see below)
- the media player works fine on the local network
- web browser refuses to work when it cant connect to samsung to check for updates
- TV periodicly compains that is has no network connection (altouh media playing over ethernet works fine)

Finaly i gave up on the whole internet connected TV crap, and samsung can drop dead in my oppinion
- All apps uninsalled
- TV is now 100% firewalled from the internet
- I only use media player
- I added a cheap android based device to HDMI to do webbrowsing and stuf

That Samsung gives me added securety is fine (if i chooice to use it)
That Samsung foreces me to use that sucks, i want to swith it of
Next TV probably wont be samsung, or at least the "smart" part wont be a selling point but more a not selling point because its mainly useless
