Nope! Don't ask, because there is no change logs or revision description available anywhere (AFAIK) for the Samsung firmware.

So you can help by telling us about any changes you noticed after upgrading your firmware.

We need to know:
1. Your TV model.
2. Your old Firmware version.
3. Your New Firmware version.
4. All the changes/improvements/problems etc., you have noticed after the update.

For the advanced hacker, you could also describe if there have been any major changes to the code...

PS. I haven't updated yet, since I want to familiarize myself with this first.

Umm... Okay.

...so why didn't you start with the changes YOU noticed? (just SAYIN'... :p )

I really can't comment because I'm still on 1015.1 and you guys kinda told me not to update.

But what I can tell you:

1. Model Number: UE40EH5300 (Model changed to UE40ES5700 in factory settings)
2. T-MST10PDEUC-1015.1
3. N/A
4. When I first got the TV and plugged it in... I didn't have internet. So Smart Hub showed practically nothing. Same even after I got internet. Youtube and all that was showing installed from the Appstore... but I could only run them from there. Then one day I was having problems and I reinitialized SmartHub and reinstalled it... suddenly all the icons were there... and then they delted themselves and I had to install them all over again.

Since reinstalling each program manually I haven't had this problem. But if I hadn't been having problems with SmartHub, I never would've known the icons were supposed to be there.

Don't know if this is a problem unique to the old ass firmware that came with the TV, because the latest version is 1029.1

Thanks! I haven't upgraded yet myself. And I won't either, until someone who has, can verify that:
1. The Debug Service (via rs-232 Exlink) code and access have not been crippled.
2. That USB running SamyGo is not failing.
The latest FW is already 1030, and all the tired Samsung slaves are very busy reading these forums to prevent us from having fun!
If they could just help us out instead, we could all have more fun...
Some documentation, some source code, some schematics...

Well you have a MUCH newer firmware than mine... and your TV is older. Did it come with that firmware?

I might update to that if there's no problems in 1027.1

My set is definitely NOT "older" with board from 2012. Stock FW. Everything seem to work. Have not tried PVR...

Well... BOTH of our TVs are from 2012.

Mine is from later in 2012. :D

Samsung's bright idea... to make an ES5700 witht he PVR disabled and charge a hundred euros less.

Other than that it's the exact same TV with a different model number.

I even changed my model to ES5700 and everything works just fine. No problems at all.

That'd be the one thing I would hate to lose if I upgraded.

I wonder if anyone could tell us the highest firmware you could downgrade from? Because I'm all for upgrading if I could downgrade again.

AFAIK you can downgrade from any firmware, higher version, than on server.

Cool, so if that is the case, I wonder if we can go even further and upgrade to the 6100 or 6300? (Mobo should be the same, AFAIK.) Although I'm not sure it would give us any additional functionality...

Well no it wouldn't. I actually tried to update to like the 6300 (well... I mean I actually did it), but there's no wifi on the board so it didn't really make any difference. So I just put it back to ES5700. Besides wifi I don't think there are any additional features.

The only difference between the 5300 and the 5700 is that the 5300 doesn't have PVR.

We'll for these particular models I wrote this.

http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/The_Sa ... odel_Codes

But on the contrary, when inspecting my own ES5700 all settings were already maxed out, so no need for anything else. Next step would be to determined what additional Widgets gets installed when changing country code. For example I suspect that Freesat should be available with UK setting and using a UK VPN IP address.
